Schedule of events will be coming online in the coming weeks, along with ticketing, timings and venue details. Watch this space!
Five short films will be shown all made from original stories from children – the theme is ‘horror’ and very spooky some of them are! Two of our directors, Hollywood film director John Irvin (‘Tinker Taylor’ ‘Hamburger Hill’ ‘Turtle Diary’ ‘Mandela’s Gun’) and BBC drama director John Gorrie (‘Doctor Who’ ‘Edward V11’ ‘Morse’) – will be there to answer questions along with the films’ editor George Clemens. Some of the crew and cast will also be there. Any one interested in the business of film making should definitely be there.
Be a part of the second Barnes Film Festival launch evening supported by The European Nature Trust. This year we are privileged to host a Q&A with Steven Moffat, writer and executive producer of BBC’s Sherlock and Dr Who, and Sue Virtue, producer of Mr Bean and Coupling. There will be music from rising star Willow Robinson, as well as a drinks reception and a selection of film shorts.
Children’s workshop in comedy, lead by Laura Lawson of the School of Comedy. There is a clown in each of us. However old, however young, deep inside we all have our own funny. Shyness, lack of confidence, social inhibitions all tarnish our clowns. Except when you’re at school of comedy. Join us for a workshop of ridiculous nonsense and fun.
Say: what makes you laugh, however naughty!
Do: what makes you feel funny, however silly you may look.
Be: however you want. There are no rules.
Learn tricks of the comedy trade, feel brave, be bold, laugh till your belly aches. This promises to be the most unique, inspiring and hilarious hour of your life so far….
