Competition

Barnes Film Festival 2018 is hosting a Youth Filmmaking Competition for UK residents aged 25 and under. There are 3 age categories: Age 12 and under; age 13-18 and age 19 and over. There is no theme for 2018. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR 2017 HAS NOW ENDED submissions for 2018 will be open soon.

Prizes

Entrants who submit their film to the Youth Filmmaking Competition 2018 are in the running to win fantastic high-value prizes related to filmmaking.

Judges

Short-listed entries to the Youth Filmmaking Competition will be judged by leading film industry professionals, and will be screened during the Festival. Winners will be announced, and prizes awarded, during the Festival in a venue in Barnes, SW13, London.

Age Categories & Theme

Age 12 and under

  • We are asking you to make a short film of up to a maximum of 3 minutes in length in the genre of Documentary, Fiction or Animation.

Ages 13-18

  • We are asking you to make a short film of up to a maximum of 5 minutes in length in the genre of Documentary, Fiction or Animation.

Ages 19 and over

  • We are asking you to make a short film of up to a maximum of 10 minutes in length in the genre of Documentary, Fiction or Animation.
