Despite unprecedented world events, Barnes Film Festival is back for a fifth straight year. This time out, we’re a digital experience only. But the programme from 18th-26th June 2020 is as packed out as ever.
So, in this overview of what’s ahead we’ll have a look at how you can buy tickets. And take a look at a few of the key events coming up.
TICKET & OUR FREE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME
First off, you can download our full 2020 film festival programme for free. It features everything you need to know about the screening times, talks, and workshops during this year’s festival.
There are two types of digital BFF ticket options. These are:
- Basic (free): You can watch all competition entries for feature films, documentaries, animation, and shorts. That’s whenever you’d like to. You just have to register and login.
- Premium pass (£20): This provides access to all workshops, talks, and Q&A discussions which are live streaming during the festival. Plus, the above films to watch as and when you please.
You can purchase a premium festival pass, which provides access to every moment of the online event.
That’s all from our special viewing hub, where you can order your ticket. And then you can watch whatever you like, all from the comfort of your home.
2020 SCHEDULE: THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
We have the likes of George Mackay, John Boorman, and Venessa Redgrave to provide insights into the film industry. Plus, emerging talent such as Hugo Diego Garcia, Candice Onyeama, and Iggy Lnd.
There’s a short film competition winner reveal, too, on Saturday 20th June. As well as a youth showcase to display what talented young minds can achieve.
But we also take our environmental approach very seriously too, with a special eco panel on Sunday 21st to discuss sustainability in film and the future of the industry.
Our latest festival is, of course, fully digital for 2020. It’s been a big undertaking, but we’re delivering a cutting edge technological experience over the next week.
Our festival director, Sam Cullis, said of this fifth BFF:
Our 5th edition sees an evolution of the festival from UK-based to international, with submissions in documentary, fiction and animation from all over the world.
We have expanded from a weekend to a week-long event and for the first time we are bringing all our content online in what has been a devastating period for the film industry and we hope our festival helps to bring some light in these difficult times.
So do take some time to look through our online programme, there really is something for everyone, with more films and audience events than ever before. We hope our festival will enrich people with new ideas, creative collaborations and synergies that can progress them on their journey. Film helps us tackle the burning issues of our time, often in surprising ways, and this couldn’t be more relevant than now.
