BARNES FILM FESTIVAL AIMS TO PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT NEW TALENT IN THE FILM INDUSTRY

An extremely well run and friendly festival which recommend everyone takes notice of. We were lucky to win first prize in our age category.

Barnes was the first win for Perched which has since been screened at over 100 festivals worldwide, winning 18 awards. It has also been seen at six Oscar qualifying screenings.

Liam Harris (Uk Short Animation Winner 2016)

To win my category, was truly a special experience. The first film I made for the festival in 2016 was not chosen to be shown at the festival, but that only encouraged me more to create something different for the next year. Instead of being ignored after the fact, the judges gave very detailed and structured feedback and were more than happy to discuss the film at a later date. It was a project that focused my film-making and inspired me to make something more out of the box than I normally would make.

Rory Campbell (UK Short Fiction Winner 2017)

I was honoured to be a part of Barnes Film Festival. Everyone was warm and welcoming. There were so many wonderful screenings and talks on — it was hard to choose which ones to attend!

The festival has great panelists and judges: giving you access to industry professionals that you otherwise wouldn’t get.

Esmé Hicks (UK Short Fiction Winner 2018)

Barnes was the first film festival my short film ‘A night with Noorjehan’ won at before going on to win elsewhere including best short at Leeds International Film Festival. I was ecstatic! It was a really special day and luckily my family visiting from Pakistan and were able to attend the screening. They were extremely impressed by all the short films and loved meeting the amazing team and judges. I loved being part of the Barnes Film Festival. It was an incredible experience.
